(INFO) Stelvio Grotesk is a contemporary sans serif typeface born from the meeting of the rigorous tradition of classic Swiss grotesks and the sensibility of Italian typographic heritage. Designed for Studio K95, the font develops an essential, precise, and versatile language, conceived to perform across editorial contexts as well as brand identity, visual communication, and typographic composition.

Concept

The project stems from an in-depth study of the great historical grotesks, particularly Akzidenz Grotesk, Helvetica, and Univers, and positions itself within a cultural lineage where modernist clarity հանդիպ meets a more authorial and Mediterranean sensibility.

The inspiration is not only typographic but also conceptual: the site connects Stelvio Grotesk to the legacy of Massimo Vignelli’s Unigrid system and, more broadly, to the dialogue between Italian and Swiss visual culture that shaped a fundamental part of 20th-century design. Within this balance of order, function, and identity, the typeface takes its place: a rational sans serif, yet not neutral; rigorous, but capable of maintaining a distinctive and recognizable personality.
