(INFO) We developed the visual identity for the exhibition “Rites of Holy Week in Sicily,” a group photography show curated by ACAF members and dedicated to one of the most intense and deeply rooted ritual traditions of Southern Italy. The project included the design of the poster, the catalogue, and a visual system able to support the content with respect, strength, and coherence.
Concept
The idea behind the project was to find a precise balance between the sacred and the contemporary, avoiding both rhetorical emphasis and a purely decorative approach. We worked on an essential visual language in which typography was not just a supporting element, but a presence capable of engaging with the images and reinforcing their meaning.
Graphic design thus became a tool to make devotion visible through design: a measured system, able to bring rhythm, intensity, and recognizability to the visual narrative. The poster and catalogue emerged from this tension between sacred art and contemporary typography, transforming the ritual into a respectful yet impactful visual experience.
